Meet Our Designer

I'm Jemma and I am your stationery designer here at Bear Avenue. I am a wife, mummy to my two beautiful kids and fur-mummy to our loving and loyal German Shepherd, Bear.  

In 2015, I married my beautiful husband on the beach at Glenelg in South Australia. I LOVED planning our wedding, every single part of it. I was a DIY bride - I made my own seating chart, spray painted my own table numbers and hand-lettered my own butterfly place cards. I really found my creativity and my passion for all things paper and a couple of years later, when I was on maternity leave, I started up Bear Avenue. 

As for the name Bear Avenue... I always wonder what’s behind a business name so I’ll tell you my little story. The name Bear Avenue is so special to me. It is the combination of my childhood memories playing with my brother and cousins at my grandparents house at Beare Avenue in SA and also my love for my gorgeous puppy dog BEAR. When I came up with this name, I fell in love with it and immediately felt like it was the one for me.

I am a very bubbly and happy person, I’m very family-oriented and I love coffee. When I’m not designing your pretty stationery, I’m working my day job, watching my latest Netflix obsession, going for family walks to get coffee or entertaining my two gorgeous kids.

My aim here at Bear Avenue is to make sure that every bride and every groom, no matter their budget, is able to have beautiful invitations and stationery that they can love and treasure for the years to come.

I am always ready to chat about everything stationery related and I love what I do so much that I’m usually up late during the evenings working on your designs... as a mum that’s the only time I truly get peace and quiet! #mumlife
